Notes from the 1/17 Economic Development Committee Meeting

1) Diana Ubiñas, Program Manager of Eastern Bank’s Business Equity Initiative (BEI), joined us to share news that the BEI Advisory Board Network has launched. Professionals who would like to be a part of the advisory network and connect with BEI graduating participating enterprises should reach out to Diana.
2) Karen Kelleher, Executive Director of LISC Boston, discussed their Impact Lending strategy supported by Northeastern University. Presentation information is fully summarized in this report on the initiative, which can be found here.
3) Franky Descoteaux shared how the Merrimack Valley Small Business Center (MVSBC) collaborates with UMass Lowell, Middlesex Community College, Community Teamwork Inc. and other partners to create a thriving small business ecosystem in the Merrimack Valley. She can be reached here.
4) MCBC is forming committee working groups. If you are interested in participating, please complete this brief (2-3 minute) survey to indicate your interest and availability. Working groups will be announced at the next meeting.
