The June 7th Mortgage Lending Committee Meeting included a lot of great information, including: 1) Presentation on Loan Referral Program by Andrea Ierace of Accion and Ting Wong of Eastern Bank 2) Info on the recently released CRA for Mortgage Lenders report and 3) Info on how to register for the Lenders Forum on Community Land Trusts. Our next Mortgage Lending Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 9:00 AM at MHP, 160 Federal Street, 2nd Floor, Boston.

MCBC Releases new report, “CRA for Mortgage Lenders, 2008-2015”

MCBC’s Mortgage Lending Committee and the MCBC Task Force on CRA for Mortgage Lenders is pleased to announce the release of MCBC’s new report, “CRA for Mortgage Lenders in Massachusetts, 2008-2015”, highlighting that community reinvestment regulation seems to have had a positive impact on the relative performance of Licensed Mortgage Lenders (LMLs) in meeting the needs of traditionally underserved borrowers and neighborhoods.
Lenders Forum on Community Land Trusts on June 8

Save the date for a Lenders Forum on Lending & Financing of Community Land Trusts. The event will be held on June 8th, 2-4 PM, at the Kroc Community Center in Dorchester. The April 21st Economic Development Committee Meeting included a lot of great information, including: 1) Presentation on Small Business Credit Survey by Brian Clarke from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, 2) Presentation on City of Boston Small Business Plan by Rafael Carbonell, and 3) Information on the Anchor Institution Mapping Inquiry Project.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, June 9th at Interise, 197 Portland Street, Boston, MA. This will be our last meeting before we take a short break over the summer.

The April 19th Mortgage Lending Committee Meeting included a lot of great information, including: 1) Presentation on Appraisals by Steve Sousa, MBREA, and Rich Goulet, MRA, 2) Delinquency and Foreclosure Reports from MHP and MassHousing for the quarter ending 12/31/15, and 3) Lots of great events and meetings coming up at our partner organizations.

MCBC Attends National Community Reinvestment Coalition Annual Conference

MCBC Executive Director Dana LeWinter traveled to DC for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition’s Annual Conference from March 16-18. Celebrating 25 Years in 2016, this year’s NCRC Annual Meeting was titled “Creating a Just Economy” and included 3 days of trainings and events focused on just that. Workshops were focused around several tracks, including “Access to Credit, Capital and Banking Services”, “Housing” and “Business Development”.
